Gorely Hodge House

The small loft extension and roof have been peeled off this 70’s Garran house and a totally new upper level has been constructed.
The bold new flowing roof form contains and defines light filled upper level living spaces. It is designed to make the best of the views of Canberra’s hills and the winter sun.
The use of steel as a ‘plastic’ and sculptural material is complimented by the judicial use of texturally softening timber elements.
The resultant house has the feel of a completely new modern and functional family home.
